Dave Sharp Young Musicians Fund

Dave Sharp Young Musicians Fund

Dave Sharp was a good friend to many including those throughout the local music scene. His enthusiasm for music was second to none, first performing as a teenager himself in band RIGOR MORTIS and reaching the TSB rock school finals.

Dave asked for the Music Monster Mash to continue to help support local music. His family and friends decided therefore to set up this fund in Dave's memory with a view to helping the next generation of budding musicians achieve similar goals and beyond.

Dave Sharp Young Musicians Fund is a UK registered charity ( no. 1140803 )

DSYMF Music Workshops

Workshops have now begun and are being held at Kingsbridge primary school. If you are aged 10-18 and you would like to have a completely free opportunity to get together with other music makers, exercise your creativity and improve your music skills with music teachers and experienced musicians this is something you will be interested in.

What the DSYMF can provide

We have several musicians/ teachers from the area, with experience in guitar, drums and stringed instruments. The workshops are going to be held once a month on a Saturday morning. For solo musicians these workshops may lead to band-forming opportunities

What you have to do

Let us know you are interested by submitting the form below. If you can play an instrument and feel like hanging out with fellow musicians, making music and getting involved in future workshops and gigs we want to hear from you. If you can't play anything yet but would like to have an opportunity to try it out, (no strings attached!) we want to hear from you too.

Safeguarding

All volunteers and teachers involved in the workshops complete CRB checks and the fund has public liability insurance. For more information please see our safeguarding statement.

If you would like to learn more about these workshops and how your school/group can get involved, please contact us here.
